Stop for a moment and...
Washing on the line by Helen in Wales
Washing on the line, a photo by Helen in Wales on Flickr.

...and look out of the window at the washing on the line.

It's been a lovely day, but sadly I haven't been further than the bottom of the garden to hang out the washing. What I have been doing is dealing with emails as I try to get things sorted out for my new teaching job and also doing a bit of crochet.

Next on the agenda is an exciting trip to the Co-op for food and then another walk down the garden to retrieve the washing, which due to the lovely warm September sunshine, should be dry and ready to iron.

Regarding the new job, I'm wondering whether to rush out and buy some new clothes now or whether to wait. I have, without really trying, lost about 7 lbs and am thus between sizes. My size 14 (UK) jeans are now rather loose, but the size 12 black trousers I used to wear last time I was teaching in a college are still on the tight side. Will buying more size 12 clothes jinx the weight loss, or will I buy more size 14 and end up with them looking baggy?

I find myself with a bit of envy of your beautiful place to hang clothes...
What a lovely photo!

I would wait on buying clothes if you can, yet I know maybe you can't wait :-)

As sophielandon suggests below, I think skirts are going to be the solution until I know exactly what is a good weight for me that is comfortable to maintain.

Perfect! That is what I like about skirts! :-)

That photo made a very interesting draw and reveal as it loaded, since the washing only showed up at the very last moment and I was waiting for the answer to "Stop for a moment and..." Climb a tree? Take a walk?

Today's post might have the same effect, though the subject tells you what you're waiting to see. :)

This is where skirts come in handy. Size 14 skirt(s) until you lose enough to fit size 12 trousers properly. (That's my strategy and I'm sticking to it!)

Yes, I think skirts are going to be the answer. I do have some suitable ones and as you say, because they're more forgiving regarding size, I can buy more if necessary without worrying about wasting money on something that may soon be the wrong size.
