Stop for a moment... - Helen's journal and online home
In which an old dog attempts to learn new tricks.
Stop for a moment...
...and look at the bright rowan berries

Rowan berries

These were on the rowan trees that border the town's playing fields, next to the river.

The forecast is not good for tomorrow, but after last night's rain, the morning was sunny and warm and the rest of the day was fine. We're poised between summer and autumn at the moment with aspects of both still apparent. Interestingly, though I am currently busier than ever with the new teaching job, I felt the urge to commit haiku yesterday. Possibly the very first sign that I might not have given up writing for ever. :)

The sun warms my face.
On the oaks and sycamores
the first tints of gold

Though perhaps the yellow leaves I noticed on some branches yesterday were just a symptom of the dry weather we had this summer?

Current Mood: accomplished accomplished

Nice haiku!

I don't think you ever can give up on writing, if the writing doesn't give up on you...
