Homemade jostaberry jam
I was sure that I'd posted here about making jostaberry jam, but I've just looked back through my entries and it seems that I haven't. Oops!

So... The jostaberries that finally bore a few fruits last year came up trumps a few weeks ago. I haven't made jam for about 20 years, but this year there were too many just to eat as pies and crumbles, so I made some jam.

Very nice is is too! :)

I had to look up what Jostaberries were. They sound delicious, and your jam looks yummy.

We've had a couple of ripe blackberries so far. I'm really hoping there will be enough to make blackberry jelly.

I want to turn part of my yard into a berry patch. Some raspberries came up wild, but this year was the first there were fruits and they disappeared as soon as they ripened. I also bought a lingonberry, but it flowers and doesn't fruit. Maybe next year.

"takes the looks of a gooseberry, removes the thorns, and makes it sweeter. " But I don't want my gooseberries sweeter! And the thorns keep the animals away. But disease resistance sounds good.

Too many to eat in pie? I have never experienced this, but my family really likes pie. My grandfather was not the only one to have pie for his birthday instead of cake.
