View from my window

Believe it or not, this is the first View From My Window desperation shot I've posted this year for this project.

It's finally starting to feel like autumn with the return of the rain and the drop in temperature, but the trees haven't yet shown much in the way of autumn colour.

Speaking of turning colder...

Yesterday I was feeling chilled. I didn't seem to be able to get warm while working at the computer and I even wondered whether I was going down with a cold or something. And then I went outside for a moment -- and guess what? It was cold! After I'd rummaged out a sweater and put it on over my t-shirt, I felt fine.

In other news, people in some of the forums I frequent are starting to talk about what they're going to write for NaNoWriMo and someone said she was doing her own version. Not 50,000 words but 50 hours.

Now I've done my own version of NaNo before with a reduced word count, but I'd never thought of doing it by time, but it sounds like a good idea. I'm still working towards actually writing again by gently poking at the first draft of a novel that I've been writing on and off for more years than I care to remember. I've written lots of other stuff in between, but this poor novel never ever gets finished and it's been through several versions so it's a total mess but I do want to complete it. I've tried doing the proper NaNo a couple of times, but that method of writing a lot of words really fast doesn't work for me, but I do like to ride the waves of enthusiasm generated by all the NaNoers. So that's what I'll do. I'll set a suitable target measured by time spent writing and see if I can get the first draft sorted out. Or at least make a proper start on it.

Current Mood: tired tired

It happened to me in much the same way - I was wondering the other day why I felt so cold & went outside! In my case, I simply switched on the hall heater. I wake up now with the chill off the place.

Being a winter woman, I'm looking forward to the changes & quite comfortable with the idea of them. More incentive to write - if I need one. And I do hope you get back to your novel. A target might well be just what you need. For me, its getting past this week (& the funeral of a dear friend.) On then to the next thing which will be a first draft of my new story.

Well, that's 'the plan.' ;)

Yes, I've noticed the chill down here as well. Since I'm planning to use the heating as little as possible this winter, I immediately dived for jumpers and foot-warmers. :)
