Pink crochet flowers - Helen's journal and online home

Pink crochet flowers

If 2013 was the Year of the Blankets, this year seems to have been the Year of the Scarf. Last year I crocheted 6 blankets (lap-sized, not full bed-sized). This year I've made 5½ scarves, and the year isn't over yet! This is the latest, nearly complete.

Pink crochet flowers

These little crochet flowers will be stitched on a crochet scarf, the edge of which is just visible in the photo. Pink is not normally my colour, but I think this has come out quite well and I will keep it for myself.

I bought the yarn to make something entirely different, then didn't like the way the project was coming out so switched to making this scarf instead. I think there may be enough yarn left to make another if I unravel the motifs I made.

Here's a view of the whole scarf.

I like the bits of green in with the pink.

That's what I like about this particular yarn too. If you knit with it or do crochet with smaller stitches, the green bits make it look almost like a row of tiny flowers. But even with the larger stitches, it makes it less relentlessly pink.

Thanks. It was a simple pattern and quick to make, but still looks good.
