Nature observations
I saw a jay in the neighbours' garden again this morning, poised on the trellis, observing the garden carefully prior to making a quick raid on the bird table. Nearby, also on the trellis was a brown fluffy blob that I initially took to be another jay, busy preening its feathers with its head under its wing.

I called to G to come and see the two jays in the neighbours' garden. He arrived in my study just in time to catch a glimpse of the first jay as it flew down to grab some food. And then the second "jay" unrolled itself to reveal that it was in fact -- a squirrel! Er, yes... That's what comes of trying to watch wildlife whilst wearing my computer screen reading glasses. :)

We have both jays and squirrels in the woodland behind us but I don't think I've yet mixed them up! :o)

LOL! Squirrels, man. They're crafty little devils. (I love them to death, though, despite their sneaky ways.)
