Walking to Mordor -- Isengard to Minas Tirith

Miles travelled since last update: 97
Miles travelled so far: 344½ (2008½ from Bag End)
Miles still to go: 233½

Percentage complete: 60%

Point reached on journey: We have entered the area called the ‘Fenmarch’ – a wetter area, especially north of the road where the Entwash becomes sluggish and starts to expand outward into a delta. South of the road great oak trees begin to appear – outliers of Firien Wood. A lone man, fleeing west, tells of war on the plains.

Where I really went...

After several very lazy days over Christmas, I went out for a brisk walk. Nowhere terribly exciting, I'm afraid. I just followed the old road and the bypass round to Llanelltyd, then returned via the bypass and the Mawddach Trail. The light was fading as I returned along the old railway. The sky was clear but it was very cold and the track was icy in places.

Cold evening

I love that shot. The monochromaticness (hey, it's a word if I say it's a word) really appeals to me and captures the wintry feeling.

Like you, I needed to be out & about after days spent indoors.
I must say, I'm enjoying this weather.
It's frosty & sunny - perfect for me.
