Recovery now seems like a distinct possibility rather than a forlorn hope

According to the NHS website, 'flu can give you any of the following symptoms:

a sudden fever – a temperature of 38C (100.4F) or above
a dry, chesty cough
a headache
tiredness and weakness
chills
aching muscles
limb or joint pain
diarrhoea or abdominal (tummy) pain
nausea and vomiting
a sore throat
a runny or blocked nose
sneezing
loss of appetite
difficulty sleeping

Or in my case, it gave me all of them. Yesterday's attack of D&V completed my 'flu symptom bingo card. Lucky me!

Fortunately, after that the illness took a turn for the better and my temperature finally returned to normal today and I managed to eat a tiny bowl of cereal for breakfast, a slice of dry toast for lunch and a tiny portion of spaghetti bolognese for dinner. Which means that with one more day of recovery, I should be OK for Dad's funeral on Friday.
