Wandering round town on a sunny afternoon
20/52 for the group 2015 Weekly Alphabet Challenge

This week's theme was: T is for Turning

I'd forgotten it was the Ras y Gader (Cader Idris Fell Race) today, so it was fortunate that I'd walked into town instead of driving because there were diversions for the traffic.

Diversion due to Ras y Gader

I'd actually wandered into town in order to try to create my first Ingress control field. I've still not totally grasped how to link up portals, but I did eventually succeed in creating two blue triangles, though I had to walk 3 miles to achieve it. However, that's actually good. The reason I started playing Ingress was to encourage me to exercise more, so it's definitely working.

When I passed through the town square, runners were arriving at the finish line at a steady rate. It's not a race I would ever think of attempting, even if I were 30 years younger and I saw one runner with bloody knees and shins, so he'd obviously fallen on rocks somewhere on the route.

And finally here is a picture of one of the local sites of interest that also happens to be an Ingress portal. It's not always easy to get a good picture of the church, but today the sun was in exactly the right position and there was a pretty blue and white sky.

Thanks. It was a lovely afternoon and getting out in the sunshine probably did me much more good than sitting inside reading the internet.

That's a lovely shot of the church! I love old stone churches, and fortunately the fashion here was for stone churches for a while.

All the buildings are stone here because there was so much of it just lying about and once that was used up, it was quarried locally.

What lovely weather they had for their run! They may even have been able to see where they were going! I know that's not always a given on mountain-tops...

I love that church shot - sunshine on dark stone. Beautiful.

Yes, the top of Cadair Idris was clear today. Often it has it's own little cloud even when the rest of the sky is clear.
