Grab the nearest book.
Open the book to page 23.
Find the fifth sentence.
Post the text of the sentence in your journal, along with these instructions.

This was harder than you might think. The absolutely nearest book didn't have any text on page 23, other than, "Part Three. September, two months later".

So I tried again and had the same problem with the next nearest book. However, I'll post the third and final sentence on that page and exhort you to:

"Resolve today that you are going to spend more and more of your time working in those few areas that can really make a difference in your life and career and less and less time on lower value activities."

Yes, indeedy. I do that all the time. Not.

OK, so trying again, I found:

Jacob said to his father, "I am Esau your first-born."

See, although there's a bookcase barely out of arm's reach in the little room I dignify with the name of "My Study" I don't have novels there, so that was from the Bible I keep to hand for reference.

Third and final attempt produced the deathless line:

"His nonchalence would have delighted a charm-school instructress."
