Floodlit rugby
41/52 for the group 2015 Weekly Alphabet Challenge

This week's theme was: N is for Night

Now we're past the equinox, the nights are starting to draw in and the rugby players have their mid-week practice under floodlights.

Considering I just snapped this with my phone on the way to a meeting, I'm actually quite pleased with how it came out. I just noticed the lights and made a slight detour to see if it would make a good shot for this week's theme. I think it did!

What an amazing shot! Fabulous contrast of yellow light and grey sky.

I was really pleased with how well the phone captured the scene. Other than straightening the shot and a slight crop, it's just how it came from the phone's camera.

At first glance, I thought this was a very spooky picture! I like it! The dark and light is so stark and the yellow from the lights and the skies etc. etc. etc.!

Yes, the contrast between the last of the natural light and the yellow artificial light is rather nice. Photos don't always capture what you're trying to capture, but I was really pleased with the job the phone made of this.

Also, if you look carefully down on the left hand side, you can just see the stones of the Gorsedd circle lurking in the gloom.
