London Trip -- Day 2

The first thing I had to do was photograph the ship before we set out on our walk.

We crossed the Thames on the cable car. You can see our ship in the distance and behind the ship is the Excel exhibition centre where I went last year for the Worldcon.

And then we started walking. And walking. And walking.

We stopped at Greenwich for a pain raisin and tea/coffee in the Meantime café. Then we walked on, through the heavy rain that was now falling. We eventually reached Tower Bridge and shortly afterwards the burger restaurant we'd eaten at once before. Unfortunately it was very busy so we decided to have a look in Tate Modern for a while until the lunchtime rush had passed.

However, by now it was as easy to go on to the Gourmet Pizza restaurant (a favourite of ours) as to go back, so we both had lasagne, a glass of wine and a delicious lemon sorbet.

From there it was just a short walk to Embankment tube station where we got the tube to Tower Hill and then the DLR back to the ship hotel. In total, according to the My Tracks app, we walked 11.5 miles. Somewhat to my surprise, my feet held up remarkably well.
