We checked out of the ship hotel and after a breakfast of bacon baps and tea/coffee in the nearby Starbucks, we caught the DLR to Bank and thence on the Northern Line to Euston. There was a train due to leave for Shrewsbury which was a bit earlier than the one we had intended to get so we caught it, thus giving us a little more time in Shrewsbury to get a snack from the buffet, which has changed from a Pumpkin to a Starbucks. The train from London was not particularly crowded but just about all the seats were reserved. We both stood as far as Coventry but then I spotted an empty seat. The young woman in the adjoining seat got off at Wolverhampton so G could sit from there to Shrewsbury.
The Aberystwyth/Pwllheli train was on time and there were enough unreserved seats to enable us to find seats together without any problem.
