This week's theme was: R is for Rim light
This was supposed to be a technical challenge to photograph a backlit subject with a sort of halo of light around the edges. Unfortunately it's been a busy week (heading for end of term!) so I didn't have much time to mess about.
This is therefore a photo of the light shining on the rim of one of my favourite mugs.
When we cleared my mother-in-law's house, there was a lot of crockery that just got stored in the garage until we had time to deal with it. Finally, after we'd stored it for about 30 years, I went through the boxes. I nearly sent this to the charity shop, but after trying it out, I decided to keep it. For some reason tea tastes particularly good out of it. It's not too chunky, so the tea doesn't cool too quickly and the size is just right because I usually make tea in a teapot, rather than teabag in a mug. The small teapot makes just under two of these mugfuls.
