Bananas - Helen's journal and online home
In which an old dog attempts to learn new tricks.
25/52 for the group 2016 Weekly Alphabet Challenge

This week's theme was: Y is for Yellow

I probably wouldn't have gone out and bought a wire curvy hangy thingy for bananas, but when we cleared my Dad's bungalow, I claimed the one he used to use.

This shot isn't quiet as sharp as I'd have liked, but in order to get the simple background, the subject was on the top of the microwave which was too high to use a tripod and hence I had to increase the ISO.

Anyway, they are definitely yellow so just the thing for this week's theme.

Did you know that bananas ripen at a different speed when they are hanging? I think it is faster...
I was guessing lemons when I saw Y for Yellow, lol.

The lemons were my fall back fruit if the banana shots didn't work out. :)

I'm not sure whether it alters the speed of ripening, but I think they do ripen more evenly when they're hanging rather than lying in a bowl.

Oh ok, it evens it. That might seem to me a faster ripening.
