Quick update
We've had some wet weather and I was out both Saturday and Sunday over the weekend, but when I finally looked in the back garden yesterday I realised that the jostaberries were ripe. The birds were starting to take an interest in the bushes, but fruit is mine! Mine, I say! You shall not have it, you thieving birds, you!

So that meant I had to put aside what I'd planned to do and pick and prepare the fruit. As we're going away for a long weekend on Thursday, I didn't want to get bogged down in jam making, so I froze the berries and I'll make jam when I return. There may be a few more berries to add as well by the time we come back -- unless the birds have thieved them, that is!

Today I managed to do a task that I've been putting off for over 2 months. It's the almost final bit of sorting out my late Dad's affairs. Anyway, another form has been completed and sent off for my brother's signature and, assuming they don't make us jump through any more hoops, we can, finally, close a couple of bank accounts that don't even have much money in them but which need to be dealt with.

Current Mood: accomplished accomplished

I don't think I've ever heard of jostaberries. What do they taste like?
