Sounds to me like you accomplished quite a bit, even if not what you'd first planned.

I've never had jostaberry jam. Or, jostaberry anything, if it comes to that. Growing up in the Southwestern US desert means there's not a whole lot of access to berries, aside from the standard raspberries and blackberries to be found at the grocery store. Oh, and strawberries, usually sour because they were picked before ripe.

We never get blackberries in the shops here. Well, you may get them in the posher supermarkets in big cities, but where I live you just have to go and pick your own when they're in season. But yes, berries are a northern, cold climate thing, so I suppose that is one of the perks of living somewhere that is mostly cold and wet. :)
