A walk in Mid-Wales

I've driven through Builth Wells in Mid-Wales umpteen times, but never stopped there until yesterday. The reason for the visit was to meet our daughter, have a catch up chat and exchange Christmas presents. Well our daughter handed over our presents but I think everyone is going to get money from us because I haven't felt inspired this year. We met in the car park and then went for a lovely (if rather muddy!) walk along by the river and then through some fields and finally back down a lane to the town centre.

Here's the River Wye just outside the town.

I still haven't managed to buy new hiking boots but despite the rain over the previous days, it was just about OK for walking shoes, though we opted to take the shorter route back into town via a tarmacked lane rather than continue along the footpaths through fields.

Just before arriving back in town, we came upon a field with several very cute little Shetland ponies straight out of a Thelwell cartoon.
